More drive in automation: compact and modular servo drives and servo motors
Today, what counts for machine builders and end-users in automation is being one decisive step ahead of the competition. This means that cost-optimized solutions must be brought to market and deployed quickly. Three main levers make it possible to achieve this goal:
Minimizing the automation structure or the installation space
Scaling without architectural breaks
Expanding the scope for action through the openness of the system
For this purpose, Bosch Rexroth has developed the world’s most compact modular drive system: ctrlX DRIVE. Be it as an entry-level or high-end variant: The system enables the rapid implementation of economical individual solutions that grow with the requirements. The drive system covers both simple single-axis applications and complex multi-axis machine systems. All system components can be freely combined by the user.
Voltage class and protection class are important decision criteria when choosing a servo drive. ctrlX DRIVE covers the large 380-480VAC market very well. Bosch Rexroth also serves the lower voltage range on the basis of an universal architecture platform. A servo drive is available for the power range of 0.05 – 1.5 kW and a 24 V / 48 V servo module for the low voltage range.
As a pioneer of cabinet-free servo drive technology, the ctrlX DRIVE portfolio also offers a variant with IP65 protection. ctrlX DRIVE cabinet-free not only saves space and reduces cabling, but also offers maximum flexibility in use. Users can choose from an extensive product portfolio that includes single and double-axis inverters with currents from 6 to 54 A. The drives are freely scalable – up to 100 drives can be operated in one line with a total length of up to 200 m.
The modular design of the system makes it easy to adapt and expand the machine design. This means that machines can be flexibly adapted to new requirements without having to completely change existing structures.
